Splish & Splash

It has been awhile!! So sorry. We had a really busy summer & then our computer was out of commission for a few weeks while it was being fixed. Hopefully I will get caught up in the few days/posts.

Back in May we went we took the boat out for the day. When we got back Roman was out washing the boat & Calli had to "help". She loved the water hose so much & would shriek with delight.

We also went to some friends house to kick summer off & the kids played in the pools & slip n slide. We had so much fun watching them & those beautiful smiles.

Mother's Day Weekend

We went camping over Mother's day Weekend this year. We had a good time & Calli did great. Last year we went camping in July but we used a friend's pop up camper. This year we stayed in our tent & roughed it. We went to Lake Texana in Edna, Tx where they are known for the alligators in the lake. Calli had so much fun being outdoors the whole weekend & sleeping in her pack in play as well. The only bad thing is that Calli is allergic to mosquitoes & is really sensitive to bites. As much as we sprayed her down the bugs just love her too much. (I like to say because she is so sweet.) We took a hike & she loved playing at the playground with all the big kids running around. We saw a bald eagle eagle that weekend & even had a gator swim right in front of our campsite!! I can't think of a better way to spend the weekend with my family doing what we love.

Company Picnic

Last Sat was Roman's annual company picnic at the Oil Ranch in Hockley. We had so much fun walking around the petting zoo, riding the train & feeding the horses & cows.We tried to get Calli to go on the pony ride but she was kind of scared...maybe next year.

Things are going good. Just busy. Calli is growing so fast & talking so much. She reads alot of her books, takes care of her "babies" & enjoys the swing set. She is a busy toddler!!

Here are the pictures from the picnic

Long Easter Weekend

We had a 3 day weekend over Easter & spent it with family & friends. On Good Friday we went to Canton & did some shopping. Saturday everyone came up to my parents ranch & we did a hayride, hunted easter eggs & had a pinata. What a good time Calli had!! Sun morning we went to church & in the afternoon our friends John, Kristin, Kayla & Carson came over for dinner & hunted more easter eggs. What a great weekend!!

School Picture

It seems like we have been really busy lately & I have not blogged or taken any pictures lately. I need to do better or otherwise I am sure it will feel like I missed out. We are doing great. Calli is growing like a weed & it seems like she has a new word for us just about every couple of days. She is enjoying her time at school, church & hanging out with friends. Since her tubes she hasn't had any more issues with getting sick. A family at our church gave us a play system for the backyard & we spend time out there now. Hopefully the next time I will get some pictures of her taken & posted.
Calli had pictures taken at Mother's Day Out. We just got them back over the weekend. She was 18 months when this was taken. It turned out way too cute!!! She is so beautiful, although I am a little bit biased.

Rodeo Time!!

On Friday Calli had her 2nd set of tubes put in her ears & her adenoids removed. She did well with the procedure but had a rough time in recovery & was pretty grumpy all day. She even got up in the middle of the night Fri night for about an hour. (which she only does if something is wrong) By Sat morning she was back to her usual happy self. So we decided to go ahead & go to the rodeo parade in Downtown Houston. She had such a good time waving at the floats, dancing to the bands & watching the horses go by. About an hour into it though she did fall asleep. She must have been worn out. It was a little chilly in the shade but when we got some sun it felt great. What a beautiful day for a parade.

Sleepover

Last night we kept my brother's kids so he & his wife could go out & celebrate their 15 year anniversary. Noah, Megan, Kayleigh & Danni came to spend the night. They were teaching her the song "The Wheels on the Bus" & Calli was mimicking their motions. It was so funny so I grabbed the video camera & they performed for Roman when he got home. How quickly she is learning from them!!

Ready...Set...GO!!!!

Calli loves chasing people around. Roman grabbed the camera & started backing away from her & she took off. I found these "squeaky" shoes at Christmas time & was hesistant about getting them. Cindy & Carol (Roman's sisters) finally convinced me & I am glad I did. They are so adorable & Calli gets a kick out of them everytime she wears them.

Our baby is 18 months!!

Today I took Calli for her 18 month checkup. She is doing very well. She knows roughly 15 words that she speaks on a regular basis & her fine motor skills are moving along. Calli mimics adult behavior & makes us laugh so much!! What a joy she brings to our lives.

Her measurements are 26 lbs 15oz (83 percentile) 32" long (61%) & 18-3/4" head circumference (80%). She is a healthy little girl which is all we have ever prayed for!!

Over the last few months her interest in books has grown so much. She loves crawling into our laps so we can read to her. She also "reads" to herself.

Zoo Fun

Roman was out of town this past weekend so Calli & I decided to hit the zoo. I was worried about it being too cold but it ended up be a beautiful day. I am really glad we went. She seemed to enjoy it more this time than the last couple of times we went. We will definitely renew our membership again this year.

Petting the goat.

Loved the flamingos. Watched them for a long time.

Peering down to watch the monkeys.

This monkey would move every time she moved. He was very interactive!!
